Do you see? πŸ‘€ Exactly. This was yet another l Do you see? πŸ‘€

Exactly. This was yet another lamp post damaged by a motorist in Regent's Park. That's right, a park. What if it was you or a loved one they hit? πŸ’₯

Yet, it seems like the humans on bikes are always to blame. Some of you may have seen all the change of infrastructure going in at Richmond park. Cobbles, humps, gates etc.

A Regents Park cycling (RPC) volunteer recently attended a Regents Park Stakeholder meeting and Tom Jarvis (deputy head of Royal Parks) confirmed that they were also looking at interventions within Regents Park (RePa).

They say that vehicle speeds, and cyclist speeds are a problem πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ.

The RPC volunteer has Chaired the Police Panel for 7 years, and questioned the latter. Saying that no tickets have been issued to cyclists for speeding in RePa 😎 .

The issue is that Tom Jarvis has to work with the CEPC (the authority that manages RePa). Tom has confirmed CEPC are very anti cycling- but that they β€˜own the road’ πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

The RPC volunteer made the point that through traffic was the main issue, for speed, pollution and safety. Unauthorised Trade vehicles are a constant problem, not cyclists. If we do nothing, then expect extra crossings, humps and cobbles by the end of 2023. The RPC volunteer says, "I am too long in the tooth to fight this now, having been busy with it since CS11." Let's help them ✊🏼

We suggest that everyone write a letter to Tom Jarvis ✍️ ✍️ ✍️ Physical letters, as we know that emails are often missed. It will take less than 30 mins to do.

Here's how you can get started - note the importance of cycling, sport and recreation being a key parks objective 🌍🌍🌍. That two bridges have been damaged by heavy vehicles (York bridge as well) 🌼🌼🌼. And that this is a perfect opportunity to improve the safety and pollution in the park✨️✨️✨️.

Tom Jarvis is director of parks for The Royal Parks.
