A reminder on group riding and social distancing
We want to thank members for being supportive during these unusual times with the Covid 19 pandemic.
Since the social distancing guidelines came into force, it’s been tough, but many Baroudeurs are adapting well: taking shorter, local, solo rides, or even moving to the wonders of indoor training.
Don’t ride so close to me
With more sunny weather forecast for the days ahead, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind members of the current guidelines on group rides; the value of the NHS; ensuring our members and their loved ones are healthy; and to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
What’s happening to our rides?
Sadly, we are not currently calling Club Rides, Social Events, Racing nor meeting prospective members. This is all very unfortunate, but we believe necessary in helping our communities get through this.
What can members do?
We value the importance of exercise for both good physical and mental health. It’s not always possible to train at home, but we ask that you follow the government and British Cycling guidelines.
Both state that you must exercise as locally as possible, and you should remain at least 2 metres apart from anyone who is not a member of your household or a carer at all times.
As members of the London Baroudeurs we have all agreed to a code of conduct. The file size is too large to post here. Please email us if you want a copy. Alternatively, take a look at the Riders Guide which we helped put together as part of the Regent’s Park Cyclists community. It’s filled with helpful information to get the best out of riding in the Royal Parks.
We are proud that members are doing the best they can to train within these guidelines and to those that are at the front line, we cheer you!
The good news
We are happy to share that all Baroudeurs are keeping safe and well.
To get us through these challenging times, members are organising online group rides via Zwift and a host of local routes are available on request.
The London Baroudeurs hopes this advice proves to be helpful to you. We wish everyone the very best and look forward to riding with you again.
