Yes, it’s here, the World Road Race Championships! Even if you’re not a cycling fan, you would’ve heard about the individual time-trials, on Wednesday, with Bradley Wiggins doing us proud and winning gold! A triumph, especially when against the heart and engine of Tony Martin.
This week Ponferrada, Spain is showcasing some of the most exciting elite races of the year. Everything from womens to mens and juniors, in order to seal the deal for 2014. The Women’s Road Race Championships will be tomorrow, Saturday, followed by the men’s the following day.
On Sunday, we wish to honour their dedication by riding north to Herts. Meeting at the Tescos, at the bottom of Swains Lane. Time: 0730 and for members only. Our next open ride will be the Baroudeur Big Ride on 12 October.
Fingers crossed, we’ll be back in time to catch the race
It’s a race you’ll want on your calendar; as young guns have heaps to prove, whilst many experienced legs target a glorious finale. It all kicks off at 13.20, live on BBC2.
