The annual LBCC awards are an exclusive and glamorous event at the best of times – how much more so, when hosted by the Olympic Velodrome and preceded by flying laps as a warm up act. The prize categories are already well-established (though subject to amendment without notice) and the system of nomination is as famously transparent as Froome’s VO2 and power data. A series of VIPs announced the winners, and celebrations ensued. This year, the range of enviable prizes included bespoke LBCC stem caps courtesy of @kapzguru. elaborate trophies, hand-carved artefacts, 24Kt Sidis and beer.

- The Golden Sidi: Pride of any mantelpiece
*Golden Sidi: awarded to the Baroudeur who has ‘invested’ the most in the pursuit of speed and panache. This year, the winner was chosen from a close field by virtue of the discrepancy between amount spent and actual miles ridden.
**Wooden Spanner: awarded to the Baroudeur who has distinguished him/herself by a series of appalling mechanical efforts resulting in disaster OR the Baroudeur who has been the victim of an appalling run of bad luck. This year, the winner was decided by virtue of multiple punctures paired with an often startling lack of ability to repair them. This has, of late, improved immeasurably.
