Name: Becks Martin
Do you have a cycling name? If so, who gave it to you and why? The Staffie – because I own a beautiful one, and was born there.
What do you do when you’re not riding a bike? I run as much as I can, and care for the health of animals.
What bicycles do you own and, more importantly, why do you own them? A BMC – it’s a great fit, and they happen to be the initials of my name.
What’s your cycling history? I’ve cycled the Alps, the Pyrenees and the Roubaix. I cycle wherever I can. I’m based in Bristol, riding the local roads and happily exploring Wales on the weekends.
What have been your favourite and worst moments on a bicycle? I love the Alps, but my worst moment was fixing two punctures in the pouring rain during a sportif in a place that I can’t even remember. What I do remember is the encouragement and cheers of camaraderie from my friends. “Aller Becks! Aller Baroudeur!”
