We often find ourselves asking the question, “What can you do?” Or to be more precise, “What can you really do?!
As the club grows, if somewhat slowly and very humbly, so does our appetite for adventure. This year sees members riding for worthy causes across France and Switzerland; others see racing as their next challenge; whilst some are finding their cycling-feet and trying group rides for the first time.
Doing a VFS
Our most recent ride to Kings Lynn (yes we did it again) is one fine example of simply mounting up and riding with friends. The reason? Besides being a lovely ride up to Ely, there’s so much to see and appreciate on the saddle. With a Baroudeur up front, shielding you as you take a swig from your bidon; it offers the chance to look up, take in the sun, and see everything growing green and lush. The summer is here!
Undoubtedly it takes a little bit of time, but each moment is worth it. Entering villages you would otherwise simply drive through, you can pause by a stream, or lie down in an open field for a moment and enjoy.
If that doesn’t grab you, then having the satisfaction that your route is not just Strava worthy, but also Visible From Space may just be the trick.
