It’s been an incredible Spring Season for Cycling. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. And so the honours go to Liege-Bastogne-Liege nicely wrapping up the Classics this Sunday. Watch out for all the favourites hoping to bag a win before the Grand Tours. Valverde, Gilbert, and Kwiatkowski are all looking good, but don’t rule out Giro champ, Nibali. He’s got a big engine that can prove useful on this 100th edition of LBL.
There’s plenty of coverage on race day, but as we all know it doesn’t all come together on just one day. Preparation and moments are everything.
I was reminded by a former pro that had raced on the cobbles, that there is always something special when present at a race. There are moments that the broadcast camera don’t always capture; like a Belgian family crying with joy as Philippe Gilbert won the the World Champs in 2012.
Here’s a glimpse of what it’s like to Team-Time-Trial from Team Sky. At the Giro del Trentino, it shows-off briliantly what an action-cam can do in team-car. A chance to see how a pro team prepares, race, then winds down from a stage. With members of the London Baroudeurs racing this season, it’s a piece of inspiration.
