If you can’t get what you want, you might as well build it yourself.
It was only a matter of time that Rob would start putting his hand at crafting and brazing his own build. This is the exquisite result:
Sourcing just the right materials and components for the job, he has created the ideal bike for the season, a Cyclo-(don’t get me) Cross frameset. If you’re not familiar with the design, it’s like mixing the DNA of a Morpho Butterfly with the Incredible Hulk – this bike can do, and does do almost anything, on and off the road. Hard as nails, yet exquisite in it’s execution. A timely addition to his n+1 theory on the number of bikes one should own. Naturally, ‘n’ being the number of bikes one happens to possess already!
Earlier this year, Ben had hit the Roubaix Challenge in Belgium on his Cross 1 with encouraging success. No doubt a second CX amongst the Baroudeurs may just be the tipping point for a few more crazy-braves to venture to the land of the Black Lion in 2013. Until then, here’s a bit more Baroudeur bravery.
