I think I finished in the top 20. It was really windy and you got hammered if you weren’t nestled in the bunch, even at the edge of the peleton was like trying twice as hard. The 50 minutes went quickly, especially as I had no computer and didnt know how long had elapsed. With 5 laps to go I reeled in a break away which killed me, then quickly got spat out of the back of the group again, fought my way to 6th or 7th wheel when, with half a lap to go, someone jumped, a good move that caught most napping. Not me though! saw his move and went with him, had his wheel into the final bend, for a flash, just a millisecond I thought a win was possible, then as we hit the wind off the final bend, a group came flying past as my legs blew apart. Was happy to cross the line in one piece. Great fun too. This isnt the end I tell you Hillingdon, just wait til I bring my Baroudeurs….
