Why do you ride your bike?
I love the adventure and the people I meet along the way.
Favourite place to ride?
Up or down mountains?
Both, in equal measure.
What song/tune/music goes through your head while riding?
Ti is fly.
Grand Tours or Classics?
GT one day, Classics, every day!
Gels or potatoes?
Headwind or rain?
Both. At the same time. If we haven’t started yet, I’m back to bed. If it happens during a ride, I just get on with it and smile.
I wish I had been told that…
…This can get addictive.
What is it like being a Baroudeur?
Do you really need to ask? Very Barouderus.
Advice to someone wanting to join the Baroudeurs?
Come and check us out. I don’t bite. Promise. The others on the other hand…
What does your cycling future hold?
We scored a Top 4 in the Women’s, a Top 10 and Top 20 in the Men’s, on our first ever major Team Time Trial event. Neither of the teams, nor the individuals had ever done a TTT before. So, I’d like to see where we can go with this.
As for myself, I’m discovering new things all the time. Riding with a team makes this possible. They don’t let me quit. There’s a healthy dose of competition, with bucket-loads of encouragement. So when I enter an event, or go for a training ride in the dark, I know I’m never alone.

Lowell has a passion for cycling and kind heart to all people. We crossed paths on freezing Sunday at 6am (trying to beat the rain) in Richmond Park. Two loops later, I felt like I have a friend for life. You will like Lowell if you love to ride, enjoy good times, and like getting to know people. Chapeau!
Thank you, Mark! Delighted to call you a friend; especially when you’re up ahead 🙂
